How should I take care of silver jewellery?

Always remember that silver is a delicate fine metal. One that is an absolute delight to wear but also require certain amount of care.

Silver jewellery should be the last thing you wear on while dressing and the first thing you take off. Protect your jewellery from harsh chemical effect from hair spray, body lotions, perfumes, sun tan and deodorants. Don’t wear you silver jewellery while swimming or working out. Remove rings while washing hands. Do not expose your jewellery to longs hours of direct sunlight. While bathing, the soap can accumulate itself in the jewellery piece causing it to lose it’s shine.

Some gemstones are porous in nature, and water and oil can find their way into it if exposed to these for long time. This might cause discolouration and permanent damage to your stones.

Also, use very soft hands while adjusting size and pulling the jewellery or while wearing or removing it, since it is a tender metal. Even though, every care is taken to make the jewellery sturdy and strong and last long, proper maintenance, care and operation can go a long way in making the jewellery stay as is forever.
